- Granulator II
Granulator II is a free Max for Live granular synthesizer. It can be installed on any Ableton Live Suite version. It can be downloaded on the Ableton shop.
To get the most out of this video, I recommend opening Granulator II while you’re watching, pausing it frequently and trying things out for yourself!

Once I’ve gotten a sound that I like what would be the best way to go about saving it.
For Ableton: Create a new audio line with cmd + t. On the right of the screen there should be a drop down menu with Ext. in selected. Click that and find your track you want to save. Two buttons over from that drop down menu there should be a button to the right of the on/off button for the track with a solid circle. Click that, it will tell Ableton this is the track you want audio recorded onto. Press record and you should be good to go. Basically what this did is it routed the. track’s audio that you want to save through the new audio track so when you press record that is what plays. I’m not sure if this is needed but I find it helpful after doing all this to change the audio coming into the track back to Ext. in. Go back to the crop down menu and press Ext in. You will have to make sure you have and audio inout and output device selected in the menu that may pop up. Once you select these, go back to the drop down menu and press Ext in. again and you should be good to go!
