Compressors usually make the sound less dynamic. It just “compresses” the louder parts, so that you can turn up the overall volume of the sound. The glue compressor is not that different from the normal compressor, but in the way that I was using it (with the “Range” setting all the way at 0), it’s not actually doing any compressing at all. The only thing it’s doing is the “Soft Clip” function, which cuts off all sound above 0dBs. This basically flattens the sound, so that I can turn it up louder. Hope that answers your question, let me know if I should try to explain it with other words if not!
