- Q&A – Lifestyle
When I asked you guys to ask questions on my Instagram stories recently, there were a lot of great questions, so in case you’ve missed the livestream where I answered most of them, you can read my answers in more detail here! The questions are sorted in 3 major categories, Lifestyle, Music production and DJing. You are currently looking at the Lifestyle part of the Q&A, the rest will follow very soon.
Lifestyle – Food
How long have you been vegan?
I went vegan in January 2018 and I was vegetarian for about a year and a half before that.
What are your favorite foods?
I am very lucky because my wife Andrea cooks amazing food! One of my favorite dishes she makes is a bowl with brown rice or lettuce, lots of different veggies like broccoli, bell pepper, sweet potato, tomato, spiralized beetroot, carrots and more. It’s topped with spiced and fried tofu, mushrooms and her homemade sauces based on coconut milk or tahini. Other than that I also really enjoy bowls and vegan burgers from my favorite vegan restaurants in the area.
What do you think about fasting?
Fasting is great because it allows your body to rest after meals. I like to give my body at least 12 hours between the last and first meal to focus on healing instead of just digesting and at least 2 hours after light meals, 4 hours after heavier meals. This is what works for me and every body is different, but I think these are pretty good general rules and giving your body time to rest is definitely something to consider.
Can we eat some vegetables together?
Yes.
How do I make the best broccoli?
I personally really like my broccoli steamed. If you don’t have a steamer, just add some water to a pot, heat it until it’s boiling and add your broccoli. It should be done when the broccoli gets a very vibrant green color and gets a little softer. Make sure to use the water for a sauce or even just to water your plants when it cools down, since it contains a lot of the nutrients that were extracted from the broccoli.
What are your favorite vegetables?
Broccoli, bell pepper, carrots, beets, tomatoes, there aren’t really any vegetables that I don’t like.
What is the easiest way to transition to veganism?
I think it’s great to start gradually. Start with a day per week and see how you like it. If you can, I think it’s great to get inspired by some vegan restaurant foods and then cook fresh meals for yourself. When you buy groceries, go when you’re not hungry, so that you don’t buy unhealthy food impulsively. If you buy a lot of vegetables, rice, some coconut milk and a spice mix, it’s pretty easy to make a delicious stir fry for yourself! It can also help to watch some documentaries to stay motivated. Remember when you go fully vegan, it will also be much easier after the first 2 weeks, when your body is used to the change in diet.
Lifestyle – Music
Music that you’ve been listening to recently?
I’ve been listening to a lot of deep dubstep from artists like Pharma, FLO, Glume, Phossa and Gisaza. I also still really like Vaporwave, Japanese City Pop, Lofi Hip Hop and Ambient.
Do you like House music?
Yes! I couldn’t name a lot of artists, because I usually just listen to playlists on Spotify, but I’m always open to recommendations.
Lifestyle – Other
Do you have pets?
No, pets aren’t allowed in our apartment unfortunately.
When was the last time you attended a Volksfest (German fun fare)
Interesting question! Probably about 3 years ago, when I was still living in Germany.
How often do you use the bathroom?
Another interesting question, thank you for asking!
Have you ever done shrooms before?
No
Who motivates you to be who you are?
Lots of people! Most of all my wife – having her makes me feel like I want to be the best version of myself. We always discuss philosophical topics to live by. It’s also motivating to see her work, because she loves helping people and she’s always very enthusiastic about her job. Besides that I’ve been reading some inspiring books and I try to apply the things I learn to my life.
Much love,

Bonjour, I loved the read hated to miss out on the livestream tho. Just a heads up although no one likes to be this person tomatoes and bell peppers are probably not considered vegetables because they have seeds haha yes tomato sauce is smoothy 😉
On another note you got me back into the love of coffee thank you man!! Huge love!!! I think you should VIP TENDO xoxoxo
Love you ♡

Hahaha oh yes I actually said it in the stream that tomatoes aren’t technically veggies, but in my mind they are because fruit are usually something sweet. To make it even more confusing, in German it’s ok to consider the tomato as “Gemüse” which is almost the same as vegetables, but I guess not exactly :p Anyway thanks for your comment and nice to hear that I got you back into coffee! Not sure yet if I’ll VIP Tendo, I’d have to just play with it a little to see if I can come up with something…
Much love!

That sounds a lot like an Indian dish called biryani! I am sure you would totally love decent vegan biryani haha. Also you have a good taste in food!
Oh for sure!! I’ve had some amazing bowls at Indian restaurants, not sure if I’ve had biryani before, but sounds good!
Would you like to share some of your Japanese City Pop tracks?
