This is the last part of the Q&A. Thank you for all your questions, if I haven’t answered something you’re curious about, feel free to drop a comment below and I will take some time to answer soon. As always you can also share your thoughts or your own experiences in the comments and I will be happy to read them!

DJing

Are you coming to x city / country this year?

I really have no idea when we can expect to have shows again, so I unfortunately don’t have any information. I believe we need to be careful so we don’t get ahead of ourselves and put more lives in danger. I’m excited to get back to it, but in the meantime I do what I can to stay healthy and enjoy what I have. I’m also very thankful to all of you who are supporting me, especially my Patreon supporters. These times would be very tough without you.

How long did it take you to feel confident in front of big crowds?

I started playing at relatively small shows, so it was a gradual transition to bigger crowds for me, which definitely helped me slowly build up confidence. I still get nervous before shows, especially when there are thousands of people, but I try to translate that nervousness into excitement. After all the symptoms of being nervous and being excited are pretty similar!

What is your inspiration for your music?

I often get inspired by other people’s music. I usually go on Soundcloud and either go through some tracks I’ve never heard before, or I go to my music library, listen to some music and then most of the time inspiration comes naturally. It doesn’t have to be Dubstep, sometimes it can be something completely unrelated. I just get excited to open my DAW and start experimenting and I think that’s what making music is about – having fun!

Collab with Bukez FInezt?

Yes, I really want to make another collab with him. He’s a great guy and an amazing producer. One of the people at the top of my mental list of people I want to work with again.

Are you going to do more tutorials or livestreams on your YT channel?

Lately I’ve been feeling like writing more than filming myself talking, which is why I started this blog. I’m definitely planning to keep teaching people what I’ve learned.

Can you do private classes or tutoring?

Yes, I offer private lessons via my Patreon. You can click the “Music & More” Link at the top-right of this page to have a look! I’ve been doing these for quite a while now and it’s always great to see how people are progressing over time. These lessons can be about anything you would like to learn, whether it’s sound design, mixdown, mastering, coming up with flows and more. You can just ask questions!

Music – History

How old were you when you started producing?

I was 14 years old.

What got you into producing?

This is kind of a long story, I’ve written the whole story down in my blog post “My Story so far”, so you can take a look at that if you’re interested!

How did you get your first label release?

Right when I started producing I also started uploading music on Soundcloud to make it available. Over time I started talking to people that were on the same level as me and started working with them. Slowly I was getting some attention on my Soundcloud page, so a label approached me to ask if they could release some music.

Can I buy old dubs?

If you join any of the tiers on my Patreon, I can sell the exclusive tracks from previous months of Patreon to you. Outside of that I don’t sell dubs anymore. If you’re looking for something really old that wasn’t on Patreon, please post a comment below and I’ll see if I can find it for you!

Are you going to release any of the “Argus the Dragon” uploads?

The Argus the Dragon Soundcloud is a page where I upload mostly tracks I never finished. It’s unlikely that I will go back to one of those projects to finish them, but if the clip goes especially well I might consider it. The purpose of the page was to have an archive of unfinished clips available that I think are worth sharing, but likely won’t be finished.

Can I get an album on vinyl?

Unfortunately I think vinyl isn’t the place for heavier Dubstep, because it requires a lot of precision in the higher frequencies, which vinyl isn’t super good at representing. Deep Dubstep is a great genre for vinyl, due to its focus on low-end. I’m not 100% sure if this is accurate, so if you have more knowledge about this topic, please educate me!

Will you release any new songs?

Yes, my new track with Virus Syndicate “Media Jungle” is coming out very soon and I’m also putting out 2 exclusive tracks on my Patreon every month.

Are you going to drop any DnB?

While I’ve been experimenting with the genre, I don’t feel like it’s at a point yet where I feel comfortable with releasing it. That being said, it might happen at some point in the future!

Where can I send a submission for the Disciple Remix Competition

Please read the rules that are part of the downloaded stem package.

What would it take for you to listen to a track of mine?

I offer detailed constructive feedback via my Patreon, so you could sign up for that if that’s something you’re interested in!

Much love,
Christian / INFEKT
