A problem with using EQ3 for band-splitting (or any non-linear phase EQ’s/filters in general) If you try duplicating out EQ3 a bunch of times without even touching the settings at all youre going to get a bunch of artifacts, almost like an all-pass filter kind of effect. This is because with non-linear phase filters the frequencies that reside at the filter cutoff have their phase rotated. This causes phase-cancellation and weird artifacts. That said, when you band split you should definitely use a linear phase filter so this phase rotation doesnt happen. This is especially important for sidechain bandsplitting. Otherwise youre essentially sending your whole sidechain group through an all pass filter. Only issue, if you try to use something like Pro-Q 3 alot of latency is added, and its like that for most other linear-phase filters as well. The sauce though, ozone imager. It is linear phase by default, and causes almost no latency, and is not heavy on the cpu. This makes it the perfect vst for band splitting
Hello INFEKT. How can you do the same preset settings where you set the (B) Red sliders down, WITHOUT effecting the green ones. Every time i turn them off and try to slide them back, the green ones follow and are not locked in place like your plugin. I am using the OTT XFER plugin on FL. Please and thank you looking forward to continuing!!!!!!!
I ended up buying ableton and honestly the sound designing and post processing sounds alot better than when i first followed the stream with fruity loops. Even using some stock plugins getting way better sound design. You are giving nuggets. Cant wait to continue everyday :))))
When you add the second reverb for the chain, you also make sure to set the second dry to 0% when using ableton reverb stock correct?
