Hey, this is great stuff and super useful/informative. This section says how you balance and level a mix though. All it talks about it how to control the dynamics. Do you have any tips on how to actually find the balance of the levels after you have gotten the dynamics under control?

Hey there, i’ve been enjoying all the masterclasses and am grateful for all the knowledge and materiel.

Quick clarifying question, the video says that a loud sound that is shorter is perceived to be quieter than a loud sound that is longer. Though, the written class says the opposite. Just wanted to clarify which it was.

Cheers!

A shorter sound with the same frequency content and volume is perceived to be quieter than a longer sound. Think for example a short burst of noise vs a longer one, the long one will feel louder even though the have the same peak and frequency content. Sorry about the confusion!

Why would you want to turn your signal down before you drove it into the clipper? Isn’t the intention to clip the peaks of the sound.
